Dr Ayesha Peckham
Consultant Psychologist
Ayesha has an interest in the integration of research into the communication between the brain and the body with therapy. She completed her PhD (2007) in Neuroimmunology.
Therapy may facilitate increased awareness of our inner experience (thoughts, feelings, physiological responses). Ayesha uses evidence-based therapy with the intention that feeling safe to build our capacity to connect to our inner experiences, self-compassion, self-trust/confidence, the present moment and to other people can help each of us embrace life and live in a way that is meaningful to us.
Ayesha works with a range of presentations including anxiety, trauma, loss/grief, depression and neurodivergence. Treatment models may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy and Imagery rescripting. When not working, Ayesha is often found at the beach.
