FaHCSIA Funding Update

Helping Children with Autism under FaHCSIA Update

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is slowly rolling out throughout NSW, and is due to hit the Port Stephens LGA in July 2016. Please click on the NDIS’s web  link  http://www.ndis.gov.au/about-us/our-sites/nsw to see their proposed rollout.

At this stage it is important to remember that families in eligible Local Government Areas (LGAs) who have recently acquired a diagnosis for their child can still send through and application and access the HCWA program throughout this financial year.  At some stage in 2016  families will be asked to transition to the NDIS, however as a service provider we do not have any further information currently. We will, however be hosting some free talks about the transition to NDIS in the next few months, so stay tuned for these dates!

The most recent application form is NSW AAP application and Consent Sept 2015, or alternatively you can download an application form from the Autism Advisor Downloads section on the Aspect website.

We have also attached a flow chart for our program to demonstrate which Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the Hunter should now apply to the NDIS.
